Be prepared for questions. As you prepare your speech, think about the possible questions you’re likely be asked.
Listen. Look to your questioner like you are listening. The question may sound like something you have heard a million times before, but you have to treat your questioner with respect.
Thank the questioner. This is a polite gesture which shows respect. Additionally, this will give you ample time to consider your answer.
Repeat the substance of the question. Verify the question from the questioner. Some people in the crowd may not have heard the question so your answer may not make sense to them.
Answer to everyone. Never answer to the questioner only so that you don’t end up having a conversation with him thereby excluding everyone else.
Dealing with a Hostile Audience
