The there are some great fisher price toys out there. My sister recently had another baby. Now, I’m not the world’s greatest uncle. If I can remember birthdays that’s great, but often I don’t. When I went to the store though, I found that a lot of the gifts were very expensive. Obviously, I have a pretty tight budget. Baby showers are fun. I’m a guy and I like going to baby showers. I feel kinda out of place though when I’m the only guy there. One shower, hosted by the husband, offered the invitees baby favor bags which was really cool. They were expecting a boy at the time and the bag had cigars, candy, playing cards with the baby’s name on them and bubbles with the same name on the label. It was a very cute idea which my wife loved! When it was time for us to host our own party, guess what we did? You got it! Baby favor bags! Our bags were pink, expecting a girl at the time. As a kid growing up I had fond memories of playing dress up with my friends, cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers, but the most fun I had was playing on the riding toys for toddlers. These came in many different shapes and sizes. From the big wheel toy to the classic wooden horse these riding toys provided me and my friends with countless hours of imaginary fun. I remember one of these toys being a little lady bug we used to sit in and there was no real steering mechanism and what you had to do was push with your feet and the lady bug would go all sorts of directions. We used to ride it down a little hill we had out back and it would twirl about and go fast down the hill. It was extremely well built and sturdy so even when you would crash you didn’t really feel it and never got hurt.

I thought this sounded like a great idea, but little did I know what I was getting myself into at the time. Of course we got to the toy store, she was running around looking at all of the toys, and asking me to buy all of them for her. I told her that there was no way this was happening, and that she would just have to learn how to make choices. I was really quite proud of her, as she listened to me, and picked out for toys that she wanted. We took them home and put them on her doll, and she was really quite happy with her choices. I felt like she learned an extremely valuable lesson, and am really quite happy with how things turned out.

There are so many factors to consider, so many types of cribs, and so many features and extras to consider. The end result was I sent my sister a gift certificate for the baby crib. The baby clothes were a different matter entirely as they can easily be returned for a different color or style. Packaging and returning a crib is more than new moms and dads should have to endure. The crib is such an intimate place for the child to be, especially during the first year of life. The safety, features, comfort, and size are all critical factors which only a mother and father can appreciate. From now on, my sister will receive only baby clothes as gifts.

So many people ask this question when they are wondering how to give a baby a bath. It is very simple though, you want the bath to be about the same temperature as the baby. A normal person has a body temperature of 98.6 degrees farenheit, so that’s about the right temperature for the baby bath. I’ve seen, “so-called” experts that say your baby bath should be 75 degrees, but that is only room temperature. Let’s see you take a room temperature bath. It’s COLD! Now, anything over 100 degrees is going to feel hot, and I wouldn’t advise that for an infant, but 75, come on. You’ll just end up with a crying baby if you try a 75 degree bath. No, it’s 98 degrees, which will feel just like the mother’s womb to the little lamb. Just give it a try tonight before you put that little one down to sleep!
