It’s that time of the year again. Tinsel everywhere you look. All the malls are boasting of huge specials for Christmas and the shelves are packed to overflowing with tempting gift packs. All I want for Christmas is a GHD hair iron. In pink. Just for me. I think I deserve to buy it for myself. I’ve used one before and there’s nothing to compare to it. My hair straightened quickly and stayed straight. No frizz. It is very important to not have frizz. Sigh. Budgets are tight this time of year too though. There’s so many people to buy gifts for. A Careless Mistake

I spent my entire afternoon with a sore back and tired eyes resulting from reading possibly hundreds of toaster reviews and customer feedbacks. Here was how I end up with such a strenuous task in search for the best toaster available on the market. Earlier in the morning, my mom was up early to make breakfast. She had set buttered bread to toast in the toaster and only one popped up. The other had gotten stuck and started to burnt. Mom then nonchalantly stuck a knife in the toaster to retrieve the piece of scorched toast that was jammed there. She got shocked but she was not able to let go of the knife. When she tried pulling her hand off the knife, she ended up lifting the toaster with knife still attached. Having to use all her strength, she threw the toaster across the kitchen.
She must have been careless and got in contact with the internal coils. I made up my mind to get wooden tongs for mom in any cases that she attempted to remove toast from the new toaster. The utensil is essentially just a long V-shaped piece of wood which has enough give in it that you can pick up pieces of toast. It seems like I have to purchase two gifts for my mom instead of one.
Trimming Back the Honeysuckle Vine

The front of our house is covered with a giant honeysuckle plant. About every two years, it needs to be trimmed down our it becomes too heavy for the roof edge. I do the job with a telescoping ladder, electric clippers and an electrc chain saw.
The first part of the job involves climbing up on the roof and using the chain saw to trim back as much of the growth as possible. I try to do this in the fall, when there won’t be many nesting birds. In spring, the plant is loaded with song bird nests, and I don’t want to disturb them.
Once I’ve trimmed down the majority of the height with the chain saw, I move in with the electric clippers and start shaping the top into a more agreeable and natural shape. I also clean out any sections wher the growth may be getting into the rain gutters and blocking them.

My father birthday is in December and I really wanted to get him something nice. Lately I been hearing him talk about , wanting a 3D television. When buying an appliance like a vacuum cleaner, I do not recommend buying a cheap off-brand product. My very old vacuum cleaner that I have owned for about twelve years finally died and I was in a position that I needed to purchase a new one. Well I haven’t been vacuum cleaner shopping for twelve years and I just went down to our local retailer to buy one.
When I got to the retail store and walked over to the vacuum cleaner section, I was overwhelmed by the number of vacuums offered. I was in a bit of a rush, I had told my wife I was going down to the store to buy a new vacuum and I’d be right back to take the kids to the park, so I just found the cheapest vacuum on the display and bought it.
The vacuum looked similar to the one that had broken down. My old vacuum was an upright vacuum and so I just bought the cheapest upright on display. The vacuum was a brand I had never heard of before but that didn’t bother me at the time. Fast forward 6 months and my cheap vacuum stopped working. My cheap vacuum has now become worthless junk. Compare the 6 months of service of the new vacuum verses the 12 years of service from my old vacuum.
My old vacuum was a Eureka upright vacuum. Unfortunately I couldn’t remember the model name, but it doesn’t really matter that much because I’m sure the models had all changed in twelve years. I went back to the retailers and walked straight to the Eureka vacuums. I had done a little more research this time and found the model that I wanted which was the Eureka Boss Smart-vac. The Boss Smart-vac had been rated best value for a vacuum by one of the consumer sites and that was good enough for me. We now have the Eureka Boss Smart-vac and we are very happy with its service.
