I always think that one of the great reasons to come to France in mid July is that you’re bound to enjoy a great firework display: its the traditional way that the French celebrate their national day Bastille Day on the 14th July. But what if you can’t take your holiday at that time?
Well, the great news is that at the Cap dAgde coastal resort in the south of France, Bastille Day is celebrated over a whole week in the middle of July, with 5 fabulous firework displays organised over 5 nights at different sites around the resort! And if that’s not enough, there are further spectacular fireworks practically every weekend through August one of which ends with the blazing up of the historic Fort Brescou located just off the coast!

My college group will have a reunion this coming fall and I was tasked to be in charge of travel arrangements. I was planning at first to have some of us car pool with the others so we will be moving in a sort of convoy. The reunion will be held in a suburban country club hence we need to prepare for long trips both going to the location and coming back to the city. When we had a meeting recently, my plan was met with opposition. I heard comments that said it would be difficult to keep an eye on each other’s car especially on freeways with fast moving vehicles. Also, the group told me it would be more convenient and enjoyable if we stayed together in one bus or van during the trip. Convinced, I contacted a coach hire company. The rates are fine which I’m sure my college mates can easily afford. We leave early Saturday morning so we have the whole weekend to relish and enjoy.

Branching out in London

Taking a look at sites related to the terms, “summer student accommodation London” has opened my eyes to the amount of possibilities that lie in the UK with regards to studying abroad. The school offers a housing program, but it’s rather expensive due to the school rates; I decided not to go with their housing when I was going to study over there and instead, I decided to look for housing on my own. I thought that I could get more creative and innovative, gaining a more authentic London experience while also saving a little money in the process. Apparently, there are several off-campus offerings in the area, just like there are in many college towns here in the United States. You get to live with a variety of different people from the country, not just college students who are also from the US, and that’s a big perk for me because while there, I want to meet as many people from the culture that I can.

I mean if you are going to visit Lisbon, of course. I was just reading a bit about Portugal the other day, and of course Lisbon figured prominently in the story. I could see renting a Lisbon apartment for a short stay and just wandering about the city whenever I wanted to. I wonder if they recommend guides and things, with these apartments? I’m pretty sure they probably do. Or at least tour facilities and stuff. Anyway, it’s funny that I will read a book about a place and immediately want to visit. I suppose its only natural — when you are engrossed in the book you can feel you are actually there. Especially if the author is very descriptive. I would love to see how well the description holds up though, of any given place. I know sometimes I don’t even recognize my own city when some people write about it.
A Quality Hotel

Having spent a lot of time in hotels, I can say with certitude that the quality of the hotel is the most import aspect of any trip. Whether it’s a family vacation or a time-pressured business trip, your hotel is the most important thing. Think about it, it is where you sleep and where you conduct most of your thinking. It is absolutely your home away from home. When you’re out and about you have too many other things to consider to get a clear perspective on what needs to be done. I find the only time I can get any real work done is when I’m in my hotel room alone. If the hotel has noisy neighbors because of a party going on outside, or if there are bugs anywhere in the hallway, or if the quality of the bed is poor, than all of these things add up to a misspent trip.

The Hardap dam supplies water to the town of Mariental, but more importantly provides water for the numerous small holdings in the area. This area is known as the little bread basket of Namibia, as a lot of produce like Lucerne, oranges and an assorted array of vegetables are grown here. The life giving water from the Fish River sees to it that this dry piece of land is turned into a lush green valley. Mariental is known for its ostrich farming, and also has a huge pig farm and a milk producing factory.

I Would Take Cheap Caribbean Vacations

We have all heard the saying, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” so I have to ask, “How cheap is cheap?” I guess it would really depend on your lifestyle and income. However, comparatively speaking, it depends on what the going rate is for something. Anytime you can get the same deal for a lower cost, I guess it would be considered cheap. I used a travel agent to arrange most of my trips. In fact she arranged Cheap Caribbean Vacations for a fiftieth birthday celebration for the women I went to high school with. We went on a three day cruise to Nassau and the Bahamas and a few of us extended the vacation by staying a few days in Orlando and taking in some of the attractions there prior to the cruise. We figured that if we were going to fly all the way there, why not make it even more worthwhile.
