How To Shop For A Credit Card
Feb 5th
What should you look for when you are thinking of acquiring a credit card? Many of us have no idea as to what we need to look for while getting a credit card. A credit card company issues you a card if you are eligible for it. But have you read the fine print on their documents? Have you ensured that what you are getting is the best deal in the market? Do not blindly take on a credit card that offers you various schemes and flashy offers that are difficult to ignore.
While scouting around for a credit card, please ensure that you do a thorough check. You could initially do an online check where you will find all the information on the credit card you are looking for. However, since schemes change faster than you can browse, the information may not always been up to date. So you must call the card issuer and speak to them personally and reconfirm the offers and information on the credit card.
You could rely on organizations like the US Citizens for Fair Credit Card Terms and the Federal Reserve Board that will give you reliable information on the various credit card companies and also rate them according to their offers and credibility. This is a good and reliable method to undertake while looking to acquire a credit card.
Make sure that the credit card is suitable to your lifestyle and needs. Does it go along with your financial status? Will you be able to pay back accordingly? What is the rate of interest you will have to pay? Is it the best on offer? You might want to look for credit cards that offer rebates, discounts and points on every purchase or even frequent flier miles when they are clubbed with an airline.
Credit card issuers are open to negotiations and so you must speak with them and try to get the best deal possible. In fact if you already have a credit card, you might want to speak with your credit card company if your pay back has been clean and you enjoy a clean slate. They might offer you a lower rate, which is better than the new card you are looking to get. A thorough check will always prove to be invaluable.
The credit card companies often check on your background before issuing you a card. Are you credit worthy and have you been enjoying a clear deal with the banks is imperative before they issue a fresh credit card to you.
The negative impact of the weight loss obsession
Feb 5th
The media has pushed upon the general public that the thinner you are, the more attractive you are. All manner of media outlets have given people the impression that being larger than a size 0 is a bad thing because it makes you fat, even though realistically, your appearance is a little too similar to that of malnourished African children. We have become trained to see the waif-like figures of fashion models to be the ideal in feminine physical beauty, even though such a form may not really have any benefits in a strictly biological sense. This has had the effect of creating the weight loss pill industry, as well as giving it the backbone it needs to be a feasible avenue of business for pharmaceutical companies eager to make a quick buck or two. However, is being thin really all that the media makes it out to be?

History of Gas Scooters
Feb 4th
The first patents for scooters go back as far as 1921. The Razor scooter was later developed by Gino Tsai in Shanghai, Taiwan and became an instant hit with the public. It didn’t take long for motor scooter popularity to expand all over the globe.
Even before 1950 there were as many as 110,000 scooters on the road in Italy alone. It has been just a little over 50 years since the Vespa-Douglas Corporation in the UK sold their first gas scooters. The Douglas corporation was on the verge of bankruptcy when they first began selling their gas scooters. It was a big hit at the 1950 Motorcycle Show and saved the company from possible financial ruin.
From 1950 to 1958 Vespa sold over 125,000 of their gas powered scooters in the UK. Why the great success? During this period the European countries didn’t have a great deal of money and there was not much gas available to the public. Due to the scarcity of gasoline and the high gas mileage of the gas motor scooter it’s popularity quickly escalated.
It didn’t take long for the Italian models (the Piaggio from Vespa and the Lambretta from Innocenti) to branch out to other countries. In France they became so popular the French tried to get in on the boom by manufacturing their own. By the early to mid 1950s the sale of gas scooters climbed to about 1 million a year in France alone.
Other countries wanted to profit from the newest craze and tried to climb on the band wagon. While some were successful others were not. Germany began to manufacture larger touring models, but this did not satisfy the public in the way the smaller, cheaper and more fuel-efficient models from Italy and France did. These smaller models were extremely popular in the European market.
Tourist Scooters Manufacturers in Germany built some very strong and powerful versions and were the first to install electric starters. These larger versions were great for traveling, touring and even racing, but were not as popular as the smaller, cheaper, more efficient models used for traveling shorter distances around town.
Vespa began marketing a couple of very popular gas powered scooters from Piaggio, the GS 125cc and the GS 150cc. These were improved versions of the earlier models for several reasons. The biggest reason is probably because the heavy gear mechanism rods were replaced by smaller and lighter cables.
France’s Roussey Scooters tried to one-up the Italian competition by coming out with a 175cc model. These were very nice vehicles and included the first water-cooled engines along with other new features, but because it had a pull-start it could not compete with the newer models from Italy that were already offering versions with electric starts.
As these wonderful vehicles have evolved over the years they have become increasingly more popular all over the world. Today they are everywhere. They are cheap to purchase, economical to operate, and are very handy and functional. These are not toys and are genuinely a lot of fun to ride. There are electric, gas powered, foldable, mobility and utility scooters.
The electric types are often used by kids and teens, but are also popular with the elderly and handicapped. Models for the handicapped are usually called mobility scooters. Folding varieties can be folded up and conveniently stored under desks, in closets or in other tiny areas and utility types are used for many different purposes. They are more popular than go karts, mini bikes or go carts. Scooters, sometimes called mopeds or go peds, are very functional, convenient and are here to stay.
The History Of Boxing
Feb 4th
Boxing has become one of the most celebrated sports of our time. With big name matches being held in glamorous locations like Las Vegas, it attracts the interest of media world wide as well as the attention of boxing enthusiasts.
The history of boxing shows us that the sport is basically the same as when it was first introduced. Granted some of the aspects have evolved considerably since then. However, the basic premise remains largely the same.
To trace the history of boxing to its roots we need to go back to North Africa during 4000 BC. Another place that participated in boxing early on was the Mediterranean during 1500 BC.
The first documented evidence of boxing was in Greece in 900 BC, when a ruler found the practice of watching two men beat each other entertaining. The difference between this early form of boxing and the boxing we enjoy today is that the ruler, a man named Thesus, allowed the boxing match to continue until one of the opponents was killed.
The history of boxing also indicates a very big difference in the attire worn by the boxers during the beginning of the sport and the safety equipment required today. Early boxers wore nothing except for padding on their arms and a pair of unpadded gloves.
Boxing was one of the first Olympic sports. It was part of the competition at the 668 BC Olympic Games. The competitors wore clothing but instead of gloves their hands were covered with leather straps that were designed to protect them from injury.
Looking at the more recent history of boxing we see that in 1681 in London the first bare-knuckled prize fight was fought. Very similar to the early fights that occurred in Greece, this type of boxing didnt afford any type of protection for the participants.
As the name indicates they fought with their bare hands. Throwing punches directly to the body and the head of their opponents. This continued for many years and in 1743 the first set of documented rules were introduced. This was done mainly to prevent the deaths that had been occurring during the matches.
The rules stated that if a man fell and didnt get up after a period of 30 seconds the boxing match would be over. It was also during this period that boxing gloves with padding were introduced and required.
Reviewing the history of boxing shows that the sport rose in popularity and championships with prize money were soon formed. This eventually graduated into the introduction of amateur boxing which is what we see during the Olympic Games today.
In amateur boxing the focus is mainly on landing punches that will score you points. The competitors are not as concerned with landing a knock-out as professional boxers are.
Throughout the recent history of boxing many amateur boxers, after competing in the Olympic Games will progress to the world of professional boxing. With the prize money many times in the millions of dollars and the endorsement deals exceeding that, its a lucrative career move.
Getting a Nose Job through Rhinoplasty
Feb 4th
The field of medicine has come a long way from focusing on life-saving operations, correcting birth defects or treating injuries. Science has expanded the realm of possibilities to include the field of cosmetic surgery which offers the promise of undoing physical imperfections and enhancing natural beauty. Therefore the promise lies in making the ideals of beauty into a reality and thereby improves self-confidence.
One of the more common plastic surgery procedures out in the market is rhinoplasty, which is more commonly referred to as ‘getting a nose job’ or simply nose surgery. Of course, this type of surgery can also be used to remedy breathing problems. However, this is more frequently availed to augment the shape of the nose to meet the aesthetic goals of an individual – that is to improve one’s appearance and thereby improve self-confidence and self-esteem.
This procedure is similar to sculpting in the sense that in order to have the desired nose shape, the skin is expertly separated from the bone and cartilage through two methods. The first comprises the cut made inside the nostrils and the other is done across the vertical narrow piece of tissue that separates the nostrils. While the first method is obviously the preferred choice because the incision will be well hidden, the second method claims to be only 3 to 4 mm long, which seems to be almost invisible to the naked eye.
Like all surgeries, this procedure is not spared of the uncertainties and risks. There are known complications (usually done by incompetent plastic surgeons) like bacterial infection, nosebleed and an adverse reaction to the anesthesia used. The best way to go about in having this kind of surgery is to get to know the level of risk involved, have a serious talk with the physician who will be handling the operation and know how to cope with post-surgery effects on the physical and mental state of the patient.
Schedule a consultation with the physician. A competent surgeon will explain the variables involved in the surgery. These variables will include the technique, the anesthesia to be used, the risks involved and most importantly, the options available to the patient. It is the responsibility of the patient to inform the surgeon as well about medical history like allergies and drugs taken, and the general expectations and apprehensions related to the procedure.
In general, it is normal to expect that after the procedure the patient will experience certain discomforts like having a nose ache, headache, and puffy eyes that look swelled and bruised and a little bleeding. These are only minor setbacks because these will gradually improve after sufficient days of rest, applying cold compress on the eyes and through prescribed pain medication. Of course, the patient should go on follow-up visits to the physician to ensure complete healing.
It is believed that the most difficult to confront after any surgery is not the physical after-effects like the swelling and puffiness described earlier. Most patients experience a period of depression after the surgery because the effect of the medical procedure is not immediately apparent. Sometimes it takes a year before the final result of the surgery becomes evident. The most important thing to keep in mind is the reason behind deciding to go through the surgery – that is to feel good about oneself and to satisfy a personal goal.
New Blood for New Life
Feb 4th
Blood cord banking is the process of preserving blood from a new born baby’s umbilical cord and placenta. The concept of blood cord banking starts immediately as soon as a mother gives birth, the blood in the umbilical cord and placenta is immediately preserved through freezing and kept in a depository until such time in the future as when that same baby, all grown up, will be needing, if ever, a transplant of the bone marrow.or for treatment of leukemia or Fanconi’s Anemia.
As the blood cord banking concept is still in its infancy stage, starting just in the mid 90s, research and studies on the subject have still to positively conclude its full medicinal benefits.
Despite of this however, many blood cord banks have come into existence since transplants of umbilical blood cord have been successful in the treatment of diseases of the immune and blood systems. Leukemia and Fanconi’s Anemia are just some of the diseases treated by umbilical cord blood. In Fanconi’s Anemia alone, 2000 patients have undergone this procedure.
Formerly viewed as birth medicinal waste, umbilical cord blood due to its high demand, is not?w a valuable commodity because it is rich in hematopoietic stem cells, progenitor cells that produce red blood cells, it also has white blood cells and platelets.
Umbilical cord blood is abundant in blood cells that are proven to restock the bone marrow. It is proven that blood cord is rich in stem cells that rejuvenate the bone marrow. Stem cells form part of our body’s blood and immune system and they have the capability to rejuvenate the other cells in our body’s system thus can be a potent cure versus the dreaded cancer diseases that wreak havoc on man. Blood cord banking is like a new blood for a new life for man.
Many parents have started banking their new borne children’s umbilical cord, doubling in number every year. As a result, more and more blood cord banking companies have come into existence. Cord Blood donation is likewise medically safe, posing no risks to the health of the mother and the infant. Collection of the blood cord does not harm you or your baby since the process is done after you have given birth.
You as an expectant parent should weigh the choices you have, would you bank your newborn’s cord blood? Or should you not? Do the long term medical benefits that you are even not assured of needing in the future far outweigh the reality of the current high costs of preserving and banking your child’s cord blood?
You know, its not remote that scientists researching on its usefulness will discover more cures for cord blood for other diseases. The procedure of collecting cord blood is simple and painless for both you and your infant and likewise there are no health risks involved. There are many public blood cord banks that accept donations for use by the public, donated cord blood is lost to the donor forever. Private, for-profit blood cord banks however charge an average of $2,000.00 to collect and preserve the umbilical cord blood for possible use of the child or family in the future.
From Mini to Nano
Feb 4th
The ability to make music listening portable has been in the consumers line of sight since the first Sony Walkman emerged, but since then portable players have been shrinking in size. From the Minidisk player to the iPod, music playing media have gotten progressively smaller, in an effort to fit in with the hectic lifestyles that prefer as little baggage as possible to accompany them. For most people, the iPod was thought to be as good as music portability gets. That is until the development of the iPod Mini and its successor, the iPod Nano.
The iPod is undoubtedly a dream of portability for the music lover, allowing him or her to carry enormous amounts of music in a hand held device. But for some, the device, about ten centimetres in length, six in width and around one and a half in depth was too burdensome still, and so the iPod mini was born.
As in most areas of electronic engineering, improvements are made at a rate that is astounding to the consumer, and new versions of electronic products become available quicker than you can master the now obsolete item you bought. So it might have seemed when the iPod Mini was replaced by the iPod Nano, but there have been improvements made between these items that does make the Nano more desirable to many iPod users. If the selling point of the Mini was its reduced size then the Nano certainly outdid its predecessor it is sixty-two percent smaller that the iPod that came before. The Nano manifestation of the iPod music player also includes a color screen, something that was missing in the Mini, so the discontinuation of the old to make way for the new genuinely represented an advancement in the smallest of the small portable music playing appliances.
While the iPod Nano includes a smaller storage capacity that its full sized counterpart twenty gigabytes or forty compared to the iPods thirty or sixty, depending on the price you are prepared to pay its tiny size and light weight make it an enormously appealing music player to those who really do like to travel light. Ideal for those who like to walk or jog, or those who simply like to get up and go, the iPod Nano really does allow you move without anything to weigh you down.

Halloween In Siberia Sort Of
Feb 3rd
Live in another country and youll start to experience serious cultural differences. This is particularly true as I discovered with Halloween in Siberia.
Russian Holidays
I loved living in Russia and the primary reason was people. Russians love to celebrate and they are big into holidays. In Chita, Siberia, practically everyday was a holiday. During communism, Russia celebrated the worker with holidays such as bus driver day, teacher day and so on. When the fun loving Russians dropped communism from the menu, they decided to keep the holidays and add new ones for the new political bent. While Oligarchs Day isnt yet a holiday, practically everything else is. With the approach of Halloween, I was ready to go nuts and show them a little of the American spirit.
At the time, I was teaching roughly 12 classes a week on law and business at Chita State Technical University. This gave me the opportunity to put together a wing dinger of a Halloween party since the students would generally follow directions without question. Accordingly, I announced to each class that we would be building a haunted house at my place and with roughly 150 students, it was going to be the haunted house of all houses. No student had any questions, but I should have noticed the blank stares.
The morning after making my announcements, the Dean of the University approached me. She had some rather pointed questions about Halloween. Nobody had ever heard of Halloween and no, children didnt trick or treat. After all, what kind of person would trick a child? Americans do this? Every year? And they try to scare the children?
Why?
The more we went back and forth, the more I started to wonder about Halloween. When I made the fatal mistake of bringing up the headless horseman, the gig was up. The Dean gave me that furrowed brow perfected by all administrators. There would be no haunted house on October 31st.
After all, October 31st was the guy who makes duplicate keys day!
Giclee Printing – A True Fine Art Print Process?
Feb 3rd
The association of giclee printing with its conceptual cousin – inkjet printing – has led some people to question the validity of this printing medium as a true fine art system. To address this, I think that it is first important to look at the history of fine art printmaking and see if giclee printing fulfil the parameters set out therein.
Fine art printmaking has traditionally been based on the concept of creating a master plate – known as the matrix – from the original and using this to reproduce a predetermined number of ‘editions’ of the original artwork. Historically, the matrix was then destroyed by the artist, producing a set of truly limited edition prints. The more traditional printing techniques such as etching, lithography and linocut have evolved into art forms themselves and required a huge degree of expertise to reproduce the original to the artists precise demands.
Nowadays, the production of a printing matrix is no longer necessary as the high quality scanning techniques employed by printing companies results in a perfect facsimile of the original painting or photograph. Giclee printing offers incredibly high degrees of fidelity and richness of colour when compared to other ‘traditional’ printing methods and because no screen or other mechanical device is used, there is no visible dot pattern. The expertise that is employed involves the careful monitoring of the colour system through the use of colour profiling techniques and the understanding of the colourspace that the machine operates within.
The print-on-demand nature of the printing process enables photographers and artists to maintain full control over the artistic integrity of their work which, coupled with the proven archival permanence of giclee prints (when coupled with specifically designed output media and inks) ensures that the artist’s work will be enjoyed for decades. Naturally, the understanding between the artist and their customers that the edition is truly limited must be maintained. The matrix is no longer destroyed, but the original scanned file must be deleted or removed from circulation upon reaching the defined number of released editions, but this has always been the case and the advent of giclee printing has no impact on this mutual understanding.
Giclee printing is indeed a fine art printing technique and one that is truly liberating for photographers and artists wishing to share their work with the widest possible audience whilst achieving a quality that was hitherto unobtainable without huge expense.
Advertising Through Email
Feb 3rd
During a email campaign address to your clients, members or mailing list subscribers it is also necessary to monitor it and know when your emails are actually read.
The “Email Marketing Use and Trends Report: H1 2004″ created upon the information collected from the MailerMailer’s 70 million clients, proved the following :
1. Email checking
The same day you send the email – This is when most of your targeted audience ( 80% ) will receive and read your email. 95% of your target audience will receive and read your email after 6 days of delivery.
2. Failed Email
Sending out a email can fail : when one of your subscribers changed his/her’s email address without letting you know, if the email is marked as spam or if the email server of one of your subscriber(s) is not responding or it’s offline.
A recent study proved that the failure rate when sending the first 5 emails to your subscribers is 6,6%, after you delete the invalid email addresses from your mailing list the failure rate when down to 3,9%.
Sending an email to goverment institutions will have a smaller failure rate ( 2,41% ), e-commerce companies ( 3,8%) and real estate agencies ( 4,19%).
3. Opening and viewing the email
It is already know and proved that sending an email to goverment institutions, telecommunication companies, ecommerce companies, real estate agencies, have the highest receving and reading rate. Most of them receive and read your email within the first 48 hours.
Also, emails sent on Monday’s have a bigger receving & reading rate compared to the other days of the week.
4. Link clicking
Emails containing links were accessed in a proportion of 4,27%.
Even if a small number of emails are send during the weekend, the ones that were sent on Saturday( 5,11%) and the ones sent on Sunday(5,54%) were received and read often then thouse sent during the week. In the same time, emails with a personalized subject were opened and read by more people than thouse that just had personalized content or thouse that were not personalized at all.
Be smart when sending out emails. Creating and maintaining a mailing list can be a very effective tool that you can use when running a web site or a online business.
Ophidiophobia and Anxiety Disorder
Feb 3rd
I believe most people, if not all, are afraid of snakes. Unless one is a snake charmer, the sight of a snake would instinctively bring terror in our hearts. Though some would even make a pet out of these reptiles, most of us would still find it hard to get near tamed or caged snakes. But what I cannot understand is why even just the mere mention of snake would make my 31-year old buddy scream the hell out of his lungs. I found it a bit amusing at first. But when he kept being unreasonably afraid about it, it was then that I knew it was a serious source of fear, for him at least. Seeing his flushed face, goosebumps, and the uncontrolled shivering made me look for more information about what was exactly causing his extraordinary fear of snakes..
Want To Start Your Own Business In 2006? Get Into The Travel Industry
Feb 3rd
While the economy has been good to some people, it has been less than stellar for others. Many people are feeling squeezed between high energy prices and jobs that are always cutting back.
NOW may be exactly the right time to start your own home-based business. Unlike a traditional brick and mortar business, you don’t need to borrow thousands to get your home-based business started. You won’t need to rent an office, hire employees, or even pay much tax.
The next question is, what kind of business should I get into? Let me suggest you take a good, hard look at the travel industry. It’s simply the largest business in the world, accounting for more than $5 TRILLIION in sales each year — and growing by a whopping 25% annually.
Now it doesn’t take a CPA to know you can make a great home-based income even you just get the crumbs off that $5 Trillion table. And new developments in the travel industry are making that easier than ever.
Vast groups of vacationers are joining together to create unprecedented bargaining power. Airlines, hotels, resorts, and golf courses are always in hot competition with each other. When a large association of vacationers shows interest, these vacation companies offer their best deals.
The association will say “We’ll tell our members to buy from you — IF you’ll give us your best deal.” A luxury hotel, for example, will often let members stay for just $200 to $400 PER WEEK.
Combine those super low travel rates with the vast number of people who are vacation these days, then mix in all the cold weather we’ve been seeing nationwide, and you’ve got a stampede of new prospects to tropical vacation destinations.
Base your new home-based business on that huge trend and you’ll earn some serious cash in 2006.
Understanding Green Card
Feb 2nd
The United States Permanent Resident Card, better understood as the Green Card, is the identification card of individuals who live permanently in the United States but are not U.S. citizens. It is the proof that the person is legally permissible to stay and work in the United States and acquires most of the rights of a U.S. citizen. Its original name was Alien Registration Receipt Card which is now called the Permanent Resident Card or form I-551 or simply Green Card.
Originally, the Permanent Resident Card is green thus the name green card. But over the years, the cards color has been replaced several times. By 2005, the lettering at the back of the card is the only prominent part of the card that is green and the rest it white. Still, the green card marks its title to the card and the current name in use. It contains the name and photograph plus other information of the holder. The card has also been improved a number of times to avoid counterfeiting.
The rule on the green card holder is simple. When in the United States, the holder should posses the green card at all times. This is important to avoid trouble when asked by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officer. This is one particular requirement of the law of the United States. Of course, the U.S. citizens need not to carry identification. This is simply because citizens have far greater constitutional rights than green card holders who are still considered as aliens. The rule to carry the card however does not exist before September 11, 2001 unless the person is coming from foreign trip where he/she needs to present the card upon re-entry to the United States. After September 11, 2001, this rule has been enforced that even when the green card holder is traveling domestically or residing in the country. The US Department of Homeland Security is the one responsible to randomly check residents if they are citizens or not then ask for the green card when needed.
Before, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) are the ones who issue green cards but it was later absorbed and replaced by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The USCIS is formerly known as the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services or the BCIS which is still under the Department of Homeland Security
Getting a green card though requires a thorough and long process. It may even take years to get it. However, the application still depends on the type of criteria the applicant falls in and what country the applicant has come from. And even if he/she is most suited to become green card holder, there is a definite number of approvals per year with unlimited number of applicants.
To be eligible for a green card application, the applicant must fall in at least one of the following criteria:
One, there should be an employer ready to sponsor your to the whole green card application process. Two, you have a relative with U.S. citizenship. Three, you won the green card lottery. Four, you happen to be married with a U.S. citizen. And five, you have invested at least $500,000 on U.S. land and have created 5 full-time jobs. Other qualifications for green card are, asylum, refugee, special immigrants, adoption, private bill, and registry.

Familiar? It’s how kids argue. I’m sure you’ve tried this mode of arguing decades back.
Children, when pointed out that they are “xxx”, tend to retaliate that their accuser is also “xxx” The accuser then balks, because people hate having their arguments thrown back at them. It’s human nature and this demonstrates the Reflexivity Principle of Argumentation.
By applying a belief statement back to the person asserting it, we test the applicability of that belief within an equitable context. By equitable context, I mean that what’s good for the Gander should also be good for the Goose. This determines the universality of the statement. If, by throwing an argument back to its issuer, we observe a resistance, then this could indicate a presence double standards. This surely makes the argument IRRATIONAL, and NON-UNIVERSAL.
Let’s see this in play.
She says, ” You’re always with your officemates. Obviously you don’t like me anymore”
To counter this with Reflexivity , you apply her argument back to her by saying, “My dear, you spend at least 3 hours a day with your friends after work. Does this imply that you love me less now as well?”
She will then see the irrationality of her argument.
Let’s try another.
Mark says, “The Bush Administration wastes so much time bickering, debating and arguing. Obviously this country is going nowhere. Such a waste of time!”
So you come to the good ole US of A’s defense by saying, “I see…. so shall I assume that your business will never prosper either? Your Board spends a lot of time deliberating and debating. I observed that you, as Chairman, even seem to enjoy this and you goad them on! Now despite all that bickering, your company grows 10% per annum. Mark, I’m sure you’re already aware of the value of debate. Healthy deliberation illuminates multiple avenues of action. That’s what your Board does. That’s what the Bush administration accomplishes.”
Okay, let’s put this to practice. Someone brave, come to the front; volunteer 10 arguments.
Then let’s have someone else come up with ten counter arguments using this principle.
Have fun!
Computer Rental: Worth Your Money?
Feb 2nd
Is computer rental worth the money? Depending on the type of computer that you have a need for as well as the expenses that you plan to save, computer rental may or may not be the right road for you to go down. One thing is quite certain. That is, there are a number of companies out there right now wanting to provide you with the computer rental that you are after. They offer a wide range of products and services. But, is it worth spending your money on these computer rentals? Or, maybe you should just outright make the purchase?
The value of the computer rental is dependent on the need that you have as well as the overall need you expect to have down the road. It makes sense that if you only plan to use the computers for a few days or weeks that you should consider the computer rental industry. Often times it is important to have a large group of computers ready to go but you really have no need for them after a certain point. This happens and it just makes complete sense to use computer rental services.
If you plan to rent a computer for a continuous time period, then it may just be well worth it to actually make the purchase. For example, many individuals find that computer rental is a low cost option to purchasing and owning a computer. For personal use, though, it makes very little sense as you will likely be able to find a PC at a much lower cost in the long run.
Regardless of your need of computer rentals, it makes good sense to shop around for the right deal. And, it also makes sense to get the exact computer that you need as well as a back up service should you need that as well. Computer rental is something that many corporations need and therefore it is important for services out there to satisfy their customers demands. Computer rental services can be found throughout the web as well as in most local areas.
Finally, Something Green At Banks Besides Greenbacks
Feb 2nd
Until now, our perception of the occurrence of green in relation to banks has inevitably led us to the conclusion that the subject was greenbacks. Now, we learn, to our watchful pleasure, that another sort of green can mollify our usual love-hate relationship with major and minor financial institutions toward the more tranquil sentiment.
We learned, with admitted tardiness, that three years ago ten of the globe’s major financial institutions made the enlightened decision to comply with what are known as the Equator P.inciples, which were designed to assure that projects they finance don’t harm the environment or the people close enough to the project to watch the groundbreaking. One of the signers of this commendable declaration was an American institution and it was, surprise, Citigroup.
By now the ranks of banks that have signed on have grown to forty-one, and we find among them the homegrown smacker backers Wells Fargo, J. P. Morgan Chase, and Bank of America.
The troupe calls itself the Equator Principles Financial Institutions.
And they’ve just made their principles more rigorous. Now, they will apply them to any project that has a capital cost of over $10 million, down from $50 million.
Of course, there are details to quibble about – and when weren’t there? – like really how much are they willing to put green trees before green currency and is their new allegiance driven by reformed character or the increasing difficulty of obtaining permission to dig?
But at least when you head for one of the participating banks to accomplish something in relation to your own visions of greenery, you can contemplate their indulgence of the Equator Principles and find some equanimity in your thoughts about how you might think about the institution, particularly on those occasions when you find you’ve been assessed what seems to you an extortionate fee for a minor blip in your balance.
